Bears Stop Seahawks Advance To NFC Championship Game

Jay Cutler scored two touchdowns and threw for two more as the Chicago Bears stopped the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 35-24. The Bears built a 28-0 lead and the Seahawks really could not ever recover. The Bears now will take on the Green Bay Packers who won Saturday against the  Atlanta Falcons. There is no love lost between the Bears and the Packers. Both teams are playing well and this should be an excellent championship game.

For the Seattle Seahawks you have to tip your hat to them and what they have accomplished. No one gave them a chance against the Saints and they won. Even though they fell behind 28-0 they still battled and that is a tribute to their team and Pete Carroll. I look for the Seahawks to be much better under Pete Carroll in his second year as head coach. The Seahawks are headed in the right direction and  Carroll has played a big part in it.

Lakers vs Clippers Relevant Again?

 

 

For the longest time when you talked about the Los Angeles Lakers playing the Los Angeles Clippers you knew it would be a blow out. These are not the same old Clippers though and the Lakers have taken notice. Blake Griffin has been play at an All-Star level and has made the Clippers a much better team right now. In fact the Los Angeles Clippers how won  eight of their last 12 contests including a win over Lebron James and the Miami Heat. 

The Lakers understand that they must not let the Clippers get any life especially right now. The Clippers have been playing well and the Lakers must end any notion that they are as good as the Lakers. I look for this to be an interesting game and the Lakers will have their hands full. Blake Griffin and company will not back down now or anytime soon.

Nebraska Cornhuskers College Football 2011 Preview

After back to back 10 win seasons the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be heading to the Big Ten Conference in 2011. The Cornhuskers have many players to replace from there 2010 squad. Some on the offensive of the ball are Zac Lee-QB, Roy Helu-IB, Niles Paul-WR, Mike McNeill-TE, Keith Williams-OG, Ricky Henry-OG, D.J. Jones-OT, Alex Henery-K/P. On the defensive side of the ball they  will  miss Pierre Allen-DE, Eric Hagg-NB, Prince Amukamara-CB, Rickey Thenarse-SS, DeJon Gomes-FS. 

Nebraska will have some talent coming back as well. They will have quarterback Taylor Martinez along with Rex Burkhead. The defense will also bring back some good layers, but they have many holes to fill. Nebraska's biggest problem will be adjusting to Big Ten football. It is different than the Big 12 and there will be a period of adjustment. The key for the Cornhuskers may be a healthy Taylor Martinez for a whole season.

Steelers And Packers Advance In Divisional Playoffs

The Pittsburgh Steelers overcame a rough first half with a 31-24 win. After falling behind 21-7  the Steelers came out and played inspired football creating three turnovers in the third quarter and eventually pulling it out. The Ravens have no one to blame but themselves as they turned the ball over and had chances to make plays. In the end Pittsburgh moved on because they made the plays and Baltimore did not.

Aaron Rodgers has proven he is one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL as he dismantled the Atlanta Falcons with a easy 48-21 rout. Rodgers threw for over 300 yards as he was very accurate and made all the right moves. Many people though that Atlanta would have a big advantage, but the truth is the Green Bay is playing very well and will be tough to stop. Their offense and defense is playing well and one more win and they will be playing in the Super Bowl.
